Week 15- Orphanages, Nicely Pressed Blue Suits, and Conference
Hows it going everyone?
This week has been excellent! This week seemed to fly by extremely fast unlike last week. It's crazy on a mission how the days can go by kind of slow but when you look up and blink a whole month has gone by! Makes you cherish the valuable time we have as missionaries. This week the work has been good, we have had a lot of lessons and are always busy. If we are not teaching a investigator or a recent convert we can ALWAYS find a less active! But as of yesterday one of our investigators; Frank passed his baptismal interview!! This means he will be baptized next week. This was great news to us because he has a difficult time with English, but man is he a faithful saint. Frank only has one leg and has to pay 70 rand just to get to church (70 rand is about 5 bucks) and it is very difficult for him to come up with that much money. To my great delight he came to church this week proudly with his nicely pressed blue suit. What a blessing it was! As for our other investigators winnie;(15 years old and has a year old baby) is on track and should be baptized as well. She is very mature for her age and understands the gospel quite well. And Winnies friend Hazel how is also the same age is also on date for next week. Molboste said she wasn't ready and she needed more time, and selby hasn't kept enough commitments or appointments. But oh the joy!! As the lord says; what great joy ill have if you bring me even one soul unto me. And also Kelsto from mafikeng should of been baptized last sunday w/ her family so i am very happy and proud of them!
This week we went to some waterfalls last p-day and it was awesome! Miss hiking a lot. Also this week we did service at a orphanage and it was great fun to play and entertain them, they all looked so bored before we came there, morality is an EXTREMELY big issue here so so many kids are born in the wrong place at the wrong time, it very sad. But we had a lot of well spent time with them and are going to make it a weekly occurrence. We had more than 7 hours of service this week didn't help either that it was literally 110 degrees alllllll week long. But to my greatest joy we got to watch conference!! I was so happy when the cambles invited us over it was great. We watched both morning sessions @6 at night and even though we cant watch the other sessions for a couple weeks it was a tremendous blessing! What a sacred opportunity we have to hear from our dear apostles and prophet! Speaking of our prophet scared me to death looked like he was about to fall off the stand! Made me quite sad to see how weak he was but i know the lord will bear him up until he has fulfilled everything he needs to do. The new apostles as well were great, look forward to hearing more from them! May favorite part of conference was how so many of them reflected on their past missions made me very inspired. And the talk about the spirit, forgot who gave it but it talked about asking 'what can i do to be better' and allowing the spirit to help us become better. Also henry B eyring's and elder cooks were great as well. Made me miss watching it with my family and going to priesthood session w/ my father and bro's! But it was great. This week was great and the work goes on!
