Week 11- Thunder and Talmage's First Baptism
Etah!!
Hey everyone i hope you are all doing well and loving life
as much as i am! This week as been simply amazing, the fruits of our
labors are finally paying off and it was great actually being in our
area for a whole week! I love Botswana but i enjoy being with my
investigators and seeing them grow on a weekly basis! This week was
awesome because we have gotten so many new investigators from the open
house last week and some from church head quarters so we have done a lot
of contacting and our pool of investigators has grown quite large! Now
that we have more people to work with we are going to start building our
relationships with them so we can begin to gain their trust and lead
them to their eternal salvation!! This week has been really rainy and
man you think it rains with thunder and lightning in Utah??? Man i
thought that the shacks we were teaching in were going to blow down!!
But during a thunderstorm with all this rain coming down we found a new
investigator and taught him about the restoration the spirit was so strong
despite all the commotion outside. This week i wanted to share a
experience i had a while ago, back when i was comps with elder Autry, we
were visiting a recent convert family that is SOOO POWERFUL!! They are
amazing we call them the g family and the father of the house used to be
a minister for a church and he is quite the powerhouse or the "FIRE" as
he likes to call himself! He is like that iconic preacher that speaks
to you like he want to rip you apart with the gospel he's awesome, he
always wears his silver and gold suits to church haha love it!! But we
were teaching him and his family and we showed them a movie about the
temple that explains it pretty well and once it ended he was balling his
guts out and he said to us with tears in his eyes "i wish i could go
back to all the people i taught and say that it was all false and
that it was all wrong" He is so powerful and describes the book of mormon
as diarrhea going though his body because its so powerful!! But other
than that we had a baptism this week!! His name is Sezway and i was
there when we first started teaching him, he is so humble and was a
golden investigator such a great guy, in matter of fact he was my first
BRT! The other Elders got him once we split the area but me and elder
Autry taught him the first 3 lessons. He is such a great guy and is
being blessed so much!! I can finally see the difference in a person
from start to finish and the spirit that is now with him has changed him
so much! But our investigators are going strong and Kelsto is on for the
26th this month she is feeling nervous pretty typical but we are excited
for her!! This week has been great and the spirit has been so strong
not only when teaching but in others conversion. Love my work out
here!!! Wouldn't trade it for anything, love my comp and we are doing
great work, it is such a honor so be able be a missionary with these
amazing people. Love this work just gets better and better. The lord
loves us so much an its hard for all of us to comprehend all that he has
given us. Take what has been given to us and never forsake it, only
spread it to others. Love life guys!
LOVE YOU ALL!!!
