Week 24 - A Missionary's Dream Come True
Christmas is right around the corner!
Well this week has been great and i cant help but to be extremely excited for Christmas! Just 11 more days! Time has flown and it honestly doesn't really feel like Christmas when its a constant 90 degrees and no Christmas lights on any house kinda sad but that's kinda how it goes here. I ask every person we teach about Christmas coming up and if they are excited, but they just say meh not really just another day, or if they manage to say they are excited it takes quite a bit of effort. Sad but hey! I'm Excited! haha This week has been great we have had Zone meeting and it was hilarious to see all the new greenies and their reactions super funny! Was i but tis not i. Crazy to think i was in their same position just 6 months ago. This week we saw a fair amount of investigators and it was great to see the progress they made from last time we saw them. We have a investigator named Symoucius that is a Representative for a political group here in limpopo and we met him actually in the hospital and gave him a blessing after that we visited him and he told us that he has read some of the book of mormon and wants to know more. Awesome awesome guy, called us up on friday and said he wanted to walk with us to church so we picked him up and dropped him off at church and he loved it and said that he was definitely coming back next week, though he has not been taught many lessons he is very close to us and we have a great relationship, powerful guy has so much in store. This my favorite thing about this week is we finally came in contact with a recent convert we baptized Mpho! She disappeared right after getting confirmed and moved away. I felt prompted to give her a call after how many months of never hearing back from her and we finally saw her at her new place and she said she had to move away from the village and move closer to central Lenyenye because it was too dangerous, but to my greatest joy she was completely different! I never really got to see her after her confirmation but when i saw her a few days ago she was completely different, she talked more than we did and her smile radiated immensely!! She told us that she was preaching the gospel on the other side of town the other day haha simply amazing (missionary's dream come true) Super awesome to see the change that the gospel can bring into peoples lives. But other than that we did service for the same sister julia who's son is crippled, went back and the dirt collapsed again on the back of her house so me and the greenie Elder Reynolds when on top of the hill and made a long ditch to keep the water away. Both of our hands were bloody and sore after that one. But everything is amazing in our little district of ours! We are small but we are strong and untied! The best part is that we are allllll obedient! The past districts have struggled severely with that issue but now there we are consistently being strong, makes everything better when those are being obedient as well. The work goes on! My favorite scripture this week!--
1 peter 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
Love you all and hope its been a great week for you!
