Week 26- Christmas Festivities
Man what a week!
This week was been something else let me tell
you! CHRISTMAS WAS EXCELLENT! So maybe i will just down run down of the week so
we can fill you all in! We started the week off super packed. Me and Elder
Thusi made it a goal to see as many people as we possibly could on Tuesday and
Wednesday because we knew that not many investigators will be available for
Christmas. We saw like 7 people each day and had district meeting late at night
because of how hectic the day was. It was great to see everyone right before
the holidays, sad to say everyone in the villages didn't really care, just
another day for them to lounge around. But on Christmas eve we went and saw
member's in Modjiodji and Lenyenye and what a great time it was. The member's
in modjiodji are some of the most incredible and favorite people I've ever met
in my life! On Christmas eve morning we helped a member named benitt get water,
his legs are crippled and he lives on top of a hill in a shack but has the
happiest family you could ever meet! We had to be back by 4 due to safety
reasons and then we went to the cambels and had a amazing feast that almost
rivaled their thanksgiving feast dinner! Spent time with them the rest of the
night and as always had fun with the cambels. Christmas day was just as great
except we dropped off smith holly to skype his family in New Zealand in the
morning and talked for a few hours, then the cambells dragged us along to go
Christmas caroling, definitely as you can tell it was the elders favorite! Then
we went to a members house and ate a ton of traditional food with them, great fun!
Then me and renyolds came back and skpyed our families! Was amazing to see them
again and their smiles *where was dad's smile?* Heard that Mckenna has put her
papers in, couldn't be more excited for her and am excited to see where she is
going to go!:) All in all it was amazing to see them again just wish i could of
spent more time talking to each of the individually! But this week we attended
modjodji side for church (all 60 of them!) and we put a investigator Daniel on
date for February 14th, super humble guy totally should make it! This up coming
week looks similar to last week due to New years! This week was great and am
looking forward to get back into the area and having busy days again! Love you
all!
*Note from the family: We loved talking with Elder Swindle on Christmas! He is doing well and completely involved with the work. He is far beyond a six month missionary in words and wisdom. "I am incredibly blessed to be able to teach these people. They deserve the highest kingdom of heaven. They really do."
